Seems like every update I do starts with....it's been a while....well this one is no different. Christmas was great but I always feel like I'm hanging on by a thread. Every year I say next year will be different and I'll start with the busy stuff early....we'll see!
The biggest thing that has happened at my house in the New Year is that my son Kyle, who is 22 and a senior at Liberty University, left for Africa on January 13th.....to be gone until June 1st. YES June 1st. I miss him so much but I'm so proud of him. Proud that he is listening to God's call on his life. I don't know what the future holds for Kyle, can only rest in the fact that he is in the Will of God and that is the safest place to be. Please keep him in your prayers when he comes to mind, and for our family and his sweet girlfriend, Kim. 4 and a half months is a long time for all of us! :)
Sewing machine has been busy busy busy and January is proving to be just as busy as the end of 2012. Thankful that sweet people ask me to make things for them! I do love to sew and create! Here are a few.....
Oh, first let me let you know I'm in the process of getting my Etsy shop up and running again. And you can always find me on Facebook by clicking on the link on the side of the page.
Before I show you what I've made for others, let me show you what I made myself for my sewing room. (soon I'll post pictures of my room...it isn't finished yet but it is a great place to work).
This was a fun project that was inspired by a picture I saw on Instagram that a friend had made. It was sooooo easy. Started with a bulletin board from Walmart, I think it was like $10. I painted the frame just because I wanted some color, but they also came in white and black I think. Bought the fabric from Hancock's decorating section and just cut a piece to fit the inside of the frame. Cut four lengths of ribbon for the side and tacked it all on with upholstry tacks also purchased from Hancocks. I hung a twine "clothesline", mainly because I love the little clothespins...bought from Walmart. Easy peasy and it's a great place to hang pictures and fun stuff.
Now....here are a few projects that I've made for some of YOU...
Hope your New Year is going well too!
